As we approach our official launch on Thanksgiving, our goal is to raise up student volunteer leaders to take charge of the movement before our departure to Ireland in late November.
Please be praying for our initial connection with these students, the cultivation of deep trust and relational rapport, and the many “I see in you” conversations as we call them to more.
Most Urgently:
Some key students in the early stages of this movement are actively facing temptation to compromise their sexual wholeness by succumbing to destructive cultural norms regarding romantic partnership.
Please pray for conviction from the Holy Spirit to these students, protection from the schemes of the Enemy, world, and flesh that threaten their resolve and witness, and wisdom as we navigate conversations with these students to gracefully encourage them to walk upright for the sake of their peers.

“…To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare in boldly, as I ought to speak” (Ephesians 6:18b-20).
October 6th marks the transition from a time of intel-gathering to a time of actively proclaiming the hope of the Gospel to the people of Belgium.
The climate is delicate for such a task. Regardless, there is an openness to our message like never before.
Many of these conversations will come in the form of patient, service-focused, long-form relationship with students. Others will be in planned discipleship meetings or events with students. Some will be with strangers we meet on campus.
Please pray for wisdom as we navigate these conversations, for open doors to share the hope of Jesus, for trust to be built with people as we do, and for pure hearts with no hidden motives.
“12 For you shall go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall break forth into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall make a name for the Lord,
an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
- Isaiah 55:12-13

Kick-off week was a huge success! As a team, we initiated with 149 students spanning 15 different nationalities across 2 key cities in Belgium. In the process we identified many potential student leaders for discipleship and leader training.
Along the way we have observed many key differences between Belgian nationals and the large international population residing in Belgium.
From our conversations with ministry leaders in the country: ministering to native Belgians is key to developing a fruitful discipleship movement. However, Belgians are elusive, quiet, skeptical people.
Please pray that native Belgians would be foundational to the launch of our movement in November.
Pray for relational trust and safe-spaces to be developed in our ministry for them.
We have been told that Belgians are loyal people. They stick to what they like. Pray that their hearts would be captured for Jesus as His hand moves across Belgium.

Classes start on Monday, September 21st for universities across Belgium. Our team is ready to go and will be on campuses meeting students and initiating spiritual conversations during this kick-off week.
Additionally, Agape Life is supporting a student led worship night on the 21st, where we hope to connect with invested believers and begin discipleship.
Please pray over our work this week: that 1) relationships would be formed 2) we’d have the energy to work diligently 3) the grace for when we fail, and 4) that the Gospel would go forth in Belgium!

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:1-7
After an official attempt last semester, Agape Life had been rejected as a recognized club by KU Leuven’s student org umbrella, LOKO, citing the existence of too many Christian clubs on campus. However, it is our understanding that these spaces are not sufficient in meeting the spiritual needs for the students on campus.
Please pray for an open door for Agape to utilize KU Leuven facilities, communication streams, and official club recognition for our events so that more students can be connected with the hope of Jesus.
