AUGUST: On My Way

We leave on Friday the 28th! Wow. I could bore you with the most productive things about my last month—cleaning out the closet, buying new shoes, emailing insurance…I’ll cut that list short before I lose my readers. The truth is, this month in Indy has been amazingly quiet and slow, and I’ve found deep rest in my soul. I feel restored, at peace, and full of courage. Now, instead of detailing my sanctified boredom to you, I write this letter as an extended call to prayer.

First, please pray for our team. We have not all been together in the same room yet! We meet in the airport in Boston. Please pray that the Lord would unify us even in our travel days, and that our unity in Christ would be our strength and a witness to the love of God.

Second, our briefing in Hungary! That’s our first stop. We will spend a few days in Budapest connecting with our coaches and some Belgian staff. This may set the tone, strategy, and direction for our team. Please pray for safe travels and an effective launch for our pioneering team.

Third, please pray over our adjustment into Belgium. I’m sure you can imagine ways we will need the Lord’s help — jet lag, learning a new world, starting rhythms of ministry, and realizing we won’t be home for a long time. I prayerfully hope these people and this place can start to feel like home before long.

Thank you for sending me. We made it! After more than a year and a half of anticipation for me, I know that the Lord has big plans for this mission, and even more so in my heart. I may send a mini update in a couple weeks to let you know we’ve arrived. Can’t wait to report back on all that the Lord does this year!

Together in Christ,

Esten
